The prototype keeps the clinic’s public routes and familiar identity, while making urgent care, routine visits and first-time enrolment easier to understand. This report separates what was observed from what still needs confirmation.
Decisions that matter first
- Repair the booking journey: the header’s preserved URL identifies Wainui Dental Clinic, its phone and address. The footer’s legacy URL reaches a generic practice lookup. Both prototype calls to action use the verified header destination and open a preview dialog first.
- Resolve Tuesday hours: the website and its source schema say 9am to 5pm; the public Google listing says 9am to 7pm. The prototype keeps website hours until the practice manager confirms the correct schedule.
- Keep enrolment distinct from booking: the new-patient page now explains the two tasks and links to payment options. All demonstration fields are disabled, with no submission endpoint.
- Retain recent work: September team portraits, October articles, recently revised treatment copy, and the August Privacy Policy and Website Terms were included in the source capture and local route mapping.
Priority meanings: P0 is a patient journey or factual conflict to resolve before launch; P1 supports primary local search and patient understanding; P2 improves maintenance, discoverability or performance after the core issues are resolved.
| Priority / existing URL | Search intent | Observed evidence | Concrete action | Current status / owner |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| P0 / | dentist Wainuiomata; local clinic contact | Header booking identifies Wainui correctly. Footer uses a legacy URL and reaches a generic practice lookup. | Use the verified header destination consistently. Retain both original URLs in the link log. | Applied locally Practice manager |
| P0 /contact/ | Wainui Dental phone; dentist opening hours | Website and schema say Mon–Fri 9–5. Public Google listing says Tuesday 9–7. | Confirm Tuesday hours, then align visible content, Dentist schema, Google profile and booking provider. | Requires internal confirmation; current website hours retained Practice manager |
| P0 /new-patient-enrolment/ | register with Wainui dentist; first appointment | Existing form collects medical/contact data and includes declarations. Registration is easy to confuse with booking. | Separate booking, enrolment and payments. Build secure form integration later; review consent, declarations and upload limits. | Navigation and disabled demo applied; production form future Practice manager / form developer |
| P1 /can-a-cracked-tooth-become-a-dental-emergency/ | broken or cracked tooth Wainuiomata; emergency dentist Lower Hutt | Article already links to the emergency page in its body. Header/footer also contain contact links. | Promote the existing urgent-care route to a clear top callout with the clinic phone, and retain the original article and link. | Applied locally; enhancement rather than a missing-link claim SEO editor / clinical lead |
| P1 /treatments/emergencies/ | emergency dentist Wainuiomata; toothache Lower Hutt | Original title promises Same-Day Appointments; body qualifies availability. | Use an availability-neutral title and prominent call-first instructions. Keep the existing emergency URL. | Applied locally; clinical wording review needed Clinical lead |
| P1 /maintenance/ | dental check-up Wainuiomata; dental clean Lower Hutt | Menu calls routine care Maintenance. Content includes check-ups, hygiene and fixed visit/X-ray frequency statements. | Use Check-ups & hygiene in navigation, clarify the two visit types, link to hygiene; clinician to review frequency wording. | Plain navigation and cross-link applied; clinical detail retained for review Clinical lead |
| P1 /contact/ | contact Wainui dentist; directions The Strand | Body still says phone/booking will be available once opened. Title ends Today Now. | Replace obsolete opening copy, improve title/description and put the actual facade beside arrival directions. | Applied locally Practice manager |
| P1 /payment-options/ | dentist payment plans Wainuiomata; Gold Card dentist | Published page lists providers, Gem Visa terms and 10% Gold Card discount on selected appointments. | Keep provider choices; confirm active agreements, exact offer terms and qualifying appointments before publishing numeric claims. | Conservative summaries applied; offer confirmation future Practice manager |
| P1 /about/ | Wainui Dental team; local dentist Wainuiomata | Current team portraits uploaded September 2026; About sitemap lastmod 29 October. Copy still describes a brand new practice. | Keep current people/photos and 2019 local origin story; remove obsolete new-practice framing. Confirm roles and clinician registration details for future bios. | Applied locally; credentials not invented Practice manager / clinical lead |
| P1 /treatments/ | dental services Wainuiomata; compare treatments | Original menu group labels Prosthetic and Orthodontics & Cosmetics point to #. A real orthodontics/cosmetics page is in the sitemap. | Make all-treatment navigation a real link plus click/keyboard toggle. Expose both real overview pages and all services. | Applied locally UX developer |
| P1 /what-happens-during-dental-extraction/ | what happens tooth extraction Lower Hutt | Recent October article explains the procedure. | Keep the article and inline photograph, add a direct next step to existing extraction treatment page and phone. | Applied locally SEO editor / clinical lead |
| P1 /what-happens-during-root-canal-treatment/ | root canal process Lower Hutt | Recent October article remains on its original URL. | Keep copy and images; connect a next-step panel to the root canal page and correct clinic contact. | Applied locally SEO editor / clinical lead |
| P1 /different-types-of-dental-fillings/ | types of fillings Lower Hutt; tooth filling Wainuiomata | Existing article and treatment page address related informational and appointment needs. | Retain both pages; link article to the fillings service instead of creating another near-duplicate local page. | Applied locally SEO editor |
| P2 /author/dr-manish-kumar/page/2/ | Wainui Dental advice by clinician | Four author pagination pages share the same title. | Add distinct page numbers to pagination titles; assess archive value using Search Console before any indexation change. | Unique local titles applied; production index choice future SEO editor |
| P2 /category/oral-health/ | browse oral-health information from Wainui Dental | Some category archives have no meta description. Across the crawl, 21 HTML pages lack a description. | Provide descriptive archive snippets and useful article links; retain archive URLs. | Descriptions applied to category/testimonial pages; full metadata table included SEO editor |
| P2 /home-christmas/ | Wainui Dental Christmas vouchers | Public seasonal page has no H1 and links to /gift-vouchers/, which returned 404. | Retain seasonal route locally, add one H1 and flag voucher terms/availability. Do not invent vouchers or turn the missing public page into a live offer. | Review page retained; purchase disabled; 404 route is only a local placeholder Practice manager |
| P2 /covid-19/ | Wainui Dental visit requirements | Older public page remains available. | Keep its URL and source copy in the prototype. Ask the clinic to confirm current relevance before changing or redirecting it. | Preserved; review future Practice manager |
| P2 / | dentist Wainuiomata on mobile | Home source HTML is 177,646 bytes with 31 stylesheet links and 31 external script elements. | Replace slider/plugin front end in the prototype with one local stylesheet and small script. Measure production Core Web Vitals after approved implementation. | Local simplification applied; field performance unverified Developer / analytics owner |
| P2 / | Wainui Dental local entity | Existing page has five JSON-LD blocks including MedicalClinic, topic annotations and Product/review markup. | Use one consistent clinic entity with verified address/phone/hours. Review Product/review and Holistic dentistry annotations for relevance; do not invent review stars. | Conservative Dentist schema applied locally; production graph reconciliation future SEO developer |
Clinic identity and audience
The source site uses a bright blue Wainui Dental wordmark, blue/white colour palette, a patient examination hero, reception and facade photographs, treatment imagery and current staff portraits. Its tone is friendly and welcoming. The About page describes the 2019 idea of bringing dental care into the Wainui Valley rather than making residents travel away for care.
The prototype retains the actual wordmark and existing photography. Blue remains the accent, with darker navy body headings and a darker blue for legible buttons and links. Subtle pale-blue gradients replace the busy slider composition. No new people, testimonials, credentials or treatment results were invented. Existing illustrations remain associated with their treatment pages; real photographs lead the featured services. Small navigation, phone, map and list icons use Lucide only.
For patients who are older or less confident online: the base body text is 18px; content uses plain first-step explanations; telephone numbers are written out and clickable; buttons are large; keyboard focus is visible; menus open by button activation rather than requiring hover. There is no time-limited content or automatic carousel.
| Reference & link | Observed pattern | Decision for Wainui patients |
|---|---|---|
| New Zealand · Gentle Dental | The site separates service groups and provides a visible route to emergency dentistry. | Use clear everyday groups and a direct urgent-care route. Do not transfer its prices, offers, hours or claims to Wainui. |
| New Zealand · Lumino Hastings | The practice page brings address, phone, hours and services together and explains online booking limitations. | Keep Wainui’s local contact details beside the next step and explain that calling can help when the patient is unsure what to book. |
| International · mydentist, United Kingdom | New-patient information and frequently asked questions explain the first visit. | Separate first-visit information, enrolment and payment choices. Do not import UK NHS or finance arrangements. |
Inventory and preservation method
The audit combined the sitemap index, its five child sitemaps, header and footer navigation, internal links, article/category/author pagination, contact links and page source. Each successfully retrieved HTML route has a corresponding local index file. Original and proposed public paths remain identical. Local index.html files let the ZIP work offline; they are not proposed new public URL suffixes. HTTP navigation removes that suffix locally.
| Source | Observed result |

| /robots.txt | 200 · 0 bytes |
| /sitemap_index.xml | 200 · 933 bytes |

The five child sitemaps contain 99 URL entries: 39 posts, 31 pages, 13 testimonial entries, 15 categories and one author. Additional public routes were discovered from internal navigation, bringing the successfully captured HTML set to 104. The crawl also encountered media URLs; these are catalogued separately from HTML routes. It is a public crawl, not a WordPress database export: unlinked pages absent from the sitemaps, authenticated content and unpublished drafts cannot be proven complete without internal access.
The captured robots.txt returned HTTP 200 with an empty body. This is not proof of Google index coverage. The alternate sitemap URLs returned the same sitemap index. One sitemap entry, /gift-vouchers/, returned HTTP 404; three discovered calendar-date URLs also returned HTTP 404. Local placeholders identify these limits without inventing page content or recommending that they become indexable pages.
| Unavailable original URL | Observed status | Prototype handling |
|---|---|---|
| /gift-vouchers/ | HTTP 404 on a focused second check | Local review placeholder. Preserve the public status until a deliberate content/redirect decision. |
| /2026/10/31/ | HTTP 404 on a focused second check | Local review placeholder. Preserve the public status until a deliberate content/redirect decision. |
| /2026/11/01/ | HTTP 404 on a focused second check | Local review placeholder. Preserve the public status until a deliberate content/redirect decision. |
| /2026/11/02/ | HTTP 404 on a focused second check | Local review placeholder. Preserve the public status until a deliberate content/redirect decision. |
All 104 original HTML snapshots are included as inert .html.txt reference files, alongside source sitemap data and asset hashes. They are not executable preview pages. The refreshed pages retain article copy and inline images, treatment details, team names/roles and legal-page content, with layout and navigation rebuilt. The homepage, About introduction, contact and payment summaries have editorial changes listed in the change log. The seasonal page and existing forms have explicit review treatments rather than live offers or data collection.
Recent content protected
- Team portraits from September 2026, including Dr Manish Kumar, Dr Maria, Susan, Erika, Johanna, Monique and Aaditya.
- 39 article routes, including the four October articles about cracked teeth, extraction, root canal treatment and fillings.
- Current treatment detail captured for each URL, with raw source and modified timestamps in the inventories.
- Privacy Policy and Website Terms dated 20 August 2026, with their existing URLs.
Raw sitemap lastmod values are preserved in sitemap-inventory.csv. They are publisher-supplied metadata, not independently verified edit times. A final content diff against the then-current WordPress site is necessary before any future theme conversion.
Titles, descriptions, H1 and internal links
Observed in the 104 captured HTML pages: 102 have one H1; /home-christmas/ has none; /author/mediagiant/ has two, including “Nothing Found”. There are 21 missing descriptions. Four Manish author pagination URLs share the same title. Those are source observations, not claims that Google will penalise the site.
The source emergency title includes “Same-Day Appointments”, while its body qualifies appointment availability. The local title avoids that promise. The contact title “Contact Us | Wainui Dental Clinic Today Now” is replaced with a clear location/contact title. The term “Maintenance” becomes “Check-ups & hygiene” in navigation while the existing /maintenance/ route is retained.
The prototype contains one H1 on each page, unique numbered author pagination titles, descriptive archive snippets where missing, consistent local clinic data, and contextual next-step links. The complete original/proposed metadata comparison is in url-inventory.csv. Search terms below are intent hypotheses, not measured search volumes.

Useful connections between informational and appointment intent
The cracked-tooth article already has an in-body emergency link. The improvement is to make that route obvious at the top with a written telephone number, so a patient in pain does not need to read the whole article. Existing links and copy remain. Other articles have an explicit end-of-article next step to their relevant treatment page.
| Informational URL | Likely local intent | Next step applied |
|---|---|---|
| /can-a-cracked-tooth-become-a-dental-emergency/ | Cracked tooth / emergency dentist in Wainuiomata or Lower Hutt | /treatments/emergencies/ + tel:045641670 |
| /what-happens-during-dental-extraction/ | Understand tooth removal before booking | /treatments/dental-extraction/ |

| /can-toothbrushes-remove-tartar/ | Understand tartar and seek a professional clean | /treatments/dental-hygiene/ |
The general navigation uses “Everyday care”, “Repair & replace teeth” and “Straighten & brighten”. The real /treatments/general-dentistry/ and /treatments/orthodontics-cosmetics/ pages remain reachable. No new suburb doorway pages or duplicated Lower Hutt treatment pages were created. Wainuiomata is foregrounded naturally, and the full Lower Hutt address remains visible.
Local data and public Google profile
The public Maps profile was inspected on 2 November 2026 via the clinic’s existing Google directions link. This is public profile observation, not access to the owner’s Business Profile dashboard.
| Field | Website / source | Public Google profile | Decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | Wainui Dental | Wainui Dental | Consistent. |
| Phone | 04 564 1670 | 04 564 1670 | Use tel:045641670 consistently. |
| Address | Footer: 10B The Strand, Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt 5014. Policy/schema also use The Strand Square. | 10B The Strand Square, Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt 5014 | Same apparent location. Confirm preferred official address form and align records before production. |
| Hours | Mon–Fri 9am–5pm; weekends closed | Tuesday 9am–7pm; other weekdays 9am–5pm; weekends closed | Material conflict. Confirm with practice manager; do not guess. |
| Website URL | https://wainuidental.co.nz/ | https://wainuidental.co.nz/?utm_source=gmb | Retain existing attribution; propose a more complete, approved UTM convention. |
| Appointment link | Header apac.dentalhub.online, pid=NZNAE02 | booking.au.hsone.app, pid=NZNAE02 | Both align with the verified current Wainui provider. Preserve valid site destination for this stage. |
| Category | Dental practice content | Dental clinic | Confirm primary and secondary categories in owner dashboard; no edits performed. |
| Reviews | Existing source has review/product schema and testimonial URLs | 5.0 from 322 reviews at observation | Volatile snapshot. Three service-focused excerpts from existing Wainui testimonial pages are now linked to their full sources. No invented star rating or AggregateRating is added. |
| Activity | Current treatment pages and article links | An owner post about dental crowns linked to /treatments/dental-crowns/ | Continue linking relevant approved posts to the existing service URL; measure referral clicks. |
Future owner-dashboard checks: special/holiday hours, appointment links, service list, primary/secondary categories, current exterior/team photographs and duplicate listings. Confirm access and factual changes before editing. The public listing displays an accessible-entrance attribute; the prototype asks patients to call about access rather than making a physical-access guarantee from that third-party field alone. This audit did not measure local-pack position, competitor rankings, profile enquiries or search demand.
Indexing, structured data and mobile performance
Observed source index directives
103 captured source HTML pages have an index/follow directive; /author/mediagiant/ is noindex/follow. Canonical and robots values for every source page are included in source-seo-audit.csv. A public 200 response, index directive or sitemap entry does not prove that Google has indexed the URL. Search Console URL Inspection, Page indexing, chosen canonicals and sitemap reports are required for that conclusion.
The prototype intentionally applies noindex, nofollow, noarchive to every HTML file and is not publicly deployed. Its robots file allows access so an accidental crawler can read noindex; robots exclusion is not a substitute for noindex. See Google’s noindex guidance. An approved staging environment should also use access control. Before a later production launch, remove the prototype directives only through the release checklist and restore page-specific indexation choices deliberately.
Local structured data
The existing home has five JSON-LD blocks, including MedicalClinic, WebPage, service offers and Product/review markup. It also includes topic annotations such as “Holistic dentistry”, whose relevance requires confirmation. The prototype uses a conservative Dentist entity, stable clinic ID, verified public phone/email, address and website hours. It contains no invented prices, clinician credentials, review rating or treatment guarantees. Website hours are still subject to the Tuesday conflict.
For WordPress conversion, reconcile the SEO plugin’s graph with theme markup to avoid competing clinic entities, validate the final production graph and preserve relevant Article/Breadcrumb data from the current SEO plugin. Do not duplicate a clinic rating as a Product to seek review stars. Google’s LocalBusiness documentation is the implementation reference. Rich results or ranking changes are not guaranteed.
Mobile and payload observations
The payload comparison below records the initial local build. The refinement adds a local stylesheet, a local font stylesheet with licensed font files, and the documented interaction enhancements. It is not a fresh Core Web Vitals result.
| Resource measure | Current homepage source | Local prototype | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| HTML bytes | 177,646 | 21,100 | Static document size only, not a loading-speed score. |
| Stylesheet links | 31 | 1 local stylesheet | Local CSS is 18,156 bytes. |
| External script elements | 31 | 0 external scripts; 1 local script | Local interaction script is 2,793 bytes. JSON-LD is data, not a runtime dependency. |
| Third-party embeds / tracking | Source includes map/review embeds, Google/Meta integrations and plugin scripts | No loaded remote embeds, analytics or advertising pixels | Directions and verified booking remain external links requiring a user action. |
| Images | Existing clinic and treatment assets | Local copies, intrinsic dimensions, lazy loading below the fold and high-priority hero | Photographs are preserved. No invented image quality or “4K” claim. |
| Measured field CWV | Not available | Not available | No CrUX, PageSpeed mobile or Search Console performance data was obtained. |
Hypothesis: removing the slider and plugin front end should reduce render complexity and third-party work. This has not been established by a controlled production performance test. Browser timing APIs were unavailable in the validation surface, so no LCP, INP or CLS result is claimed. For the approved build, run Lighthouse/PageSpeed on the final hosting, test a lower-powered phone and mobile connection, then monitor field Core Web Vitals at the 75th percentile: LCP ≤2.5 seconds, INP ≤200ms and CLS ≤0.1. See Google’s Web Vitals reference. Convert/compress responsive image variants where useful, retain originals, and verify quality and image rights before replacing files.
How to measure calls and booking clicks
No analytics were added to the prototype. The following is a production measurement proposal. It requires the analytics owner, suitable consent/settings and access to the booking provider for any confirmed-appointment reporting.
| Event | Trigger / parameters | What it can tell us | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| phone_click | Activation of a tel link; page_path, cta_location (header, hero, footer, mobile, article) | Phone-link engagement by source and page | Does not establish a connected call or a patient booking. Do not call it a completed appointment. |
| booking_click | Outbound click to verified Wainui provider; page_path, cta_location, destination_host, clinic_id=NZNAE02 | How many visitors proceed to the booking provider | A website click is not a completed booking. Track the actual outbound link, not the prototype dialog opening. |
| directions_click | Activation of preserved Google directions link; page_path, cta_location | Interest in reaching the clinic | Does not prove an attended visit. |
| enrolment_complete | Success response from a future secure production form | Completed patient-enrolment submission | Cannot be measured from a button click. Must be implemented server-side/integration-side and exclude medical contents. |
| appointment_confirmed | Verified provider success event or permitted aggregate reconciliation | Confirmed bookings from the correct clinic | Needs provider support and agreed cross-domain attribution. Not available in this audit. |
Keep event payloads limited to non-patient interaction metadata. Do not send names, email addresses, phone input, dates of birth, NHI, messages, medical conditions, treatment details tied to individuals or appointment IDs into analytics. Use CTA location and clean page paths; avoid sending arbitrary query strings.
For the Google profile website link, propose utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=gbp_wainui, after checking the existing reporting convention. The observed link currently has only utm_source=gmb; do not break historical reporting without an agreed mapping. Keep the booking provider URL and clinic ID intact. Review consented aggregate referral data, appointment data and reporting definitions with the provider.
Baseline plan: export 28 days of organic landing-page performance, device mix and current CTA counts before launch, then compare a similar 28-day period and annotate the change date. Segment Wainuiomata/Lower Hutt branded and non-branded search queries where Search Console permits; account for seasonal and campaign effects. Primary KPIs: phone clicks, outbound booking clicks, provider-confirmed appointments if available and conversion rate by landing page/device. No traffic, revenue or uplift forecast is asserted.
Claims and operational facts for review
The prototype adds plain-language definitions and a three-part introduction to treatments: why a patient might visit, what to expect and the next step. These summaries are based on Wainui’s own current material. Existing longer treatment and article content remains available for clinician review; retaining it is not a new clinical endorsement.
| Existing URL | Item requiring confirmation | Handling |
|---|---|---|
| / | “painlessly”, “straight away”, “newest” and combined experience statements in the old homepage | Removed from the new homepage. Confirm any future technology/outcome and experience claims. |
| /about/ | More than 30 years combined experience; practice described as brand new | Current team photos and names retained; cumulative experience not repeated as a new claim. Verify roles/registrations before detailed clinician bios. |
| /maintenance/ | Twice-yearly check-ups and once/twice-yearly X-rays | Retained in source detail, listed for clinician review. Individual recommendations should be confirmed by the clinical lead. |
| /treatments/emergencies/ | Same-day availability, pain relief, stabilisation and ACC conditions | No new guaranteed same-day care. Confirm triage, out-of-hours guidance and the clinical wording before publication. |
| /payment-options/ | Gem Visa six-month offer for purchases over $250; Afterpay instalments; 10% Gold Card discount on selected appointments | Original exact statements logged. Prototype summaries ask reception to confirm current terms and qualifying appointments. |
| /treatments/dental-sedation/ | Sedation availability, indications and recovery guidance | Page retained. Confirm current options, clinical eligibility, staffing and patient instructions. |
| /premium-dental-crowns-last-20-years/ | Crown longevity over 20 years | Preserve URL/source; clinician to assess evidence and qualifications before any promotional reuse. |
| /why-dental-implants-are-the-most-permanent-solution/ | Permanence/success and comparison claims | Preserve URL/source; review wording and evidence before publication. |
| /home-christmas/ | Gift voucher availability and conditions; linked destination returns 404 | Seasonal content marked for review. No online purchase enabled. |
| /new-patient-enrolment/ | Medical/health and safety declarations, cancellation/payment terms and source upload limit | Secure form, exact declarations and practical upload configuration are future work. No patient information is collected in the preview. |
clinical-review-register.csv contains 92 exact source excerpts selected for review. It is a targeted triage register, not an exhaustive clinical or legal assessment. All treatment summaries should be signed off by the clinical lead before publishing. The site avoids adding the word “specialist” as a clinic marketing claim.
Photographs still worth obtaining
No missing photograph prevents the primary prototype journeys. All 405 downloaded source assets/variants passed local decoding checks. The current facade photograph is retained beside directions, and the current staff portraits are retained on About. Future optional photographs: a wider high-resolution entrance/access route, clearly identified current clinicians with consent, and an original treatment-conversation photograph. These should be obtained from the clinic rather than replaced with generic people. Some inherited older treatment illustrations include embedded stock markings; their source is retained, and licence/clean-master confirmation is future work rather than removing a watermark.
Validation and precise limits
| Area | Method | Result / limit |
|---|---|---|
| All local HTML files | Static link, image, fragment, H1, noindex and active-content checks | 110 files including two review utilities; zero broken local links/assets/fragments, zero duplicate photograph bytes on a page and one H1 per page at final validation. |
| All downloaded raster assets | Pillow image verification | 405 source assets/variants decoded successfully. This verifies the file bytes, not image licensing or clinical accuracy. |
| Desktop home and dropdown | Cloud Chrome, 1363 × 936 CSS-pixel viewport | 18px body text, no horizontal overflow, no failed loaded images; dropdown inside the viewport. |
| Keyboard | Enter/Space open menu; Tab reaches View all treatments; Enter follows general treatment route; Escape closes dropdown; skip link moves focus to main | Passed the exercised actions. Visible focus reviewed. Not a full assistive-technology certification. |
| 320px phone layout | Real iframe width 320px, 305px content width after scrollbar | Home and eight core pages: no horizontal overflow. Dropdown left/right bounds remained inside content width. |
| 390px phone layout | Real iframe width 390px, 375px content width after scrollbar | Home, menu, new-patient/payment and contact/booking journeys exercised. No broken loaded images observed. |
| 200% enlargement | 640 × 420 CSS-pixel frame displayed at 2×, giving 1280 × 840 screen pixels | Home and eight core pages: no horizontal overflow; menu stayed within the logical layout. This is a reflow simulation. |
| Native browser zoom at 200% | Browser zoom shortcut did not change the test viewport | Not verified. Repeat with the native browser zoom control before production approval. |
| Touch devices | Standard buttons handle click/tap activation; narrow-layout click behaviour tested | A physical phone, touch hardware, Safari/iOS and screen-reader combinations were not available. |
| Patient journeys | Keyboard all-treatments link; new patients → payment page; booking preview → preserved provider URL; emergency/article and routine links validated | Destinations match mapped pages and tel:045641670. No telephone call or appointment submission was initiated. |
| Demo contact and enrolment | Disabled fields, no field names, no form endpoint, local-only acknowledgement | Preview action reports that no information was collected/sent and no appointment was made. No analytics or storage calls exist. |
| Live provider destinations | Both original header/footer links opened without entering patient information | Header identifies Wainui; legacy footer lookup fails clinic identification. Slot availability and completed booking were intentionally not tested. |
| Indexing / field performance | Public source crawl and official guidance only | No Search Console, GBP owner dashboard, WordPress admin, GA4, CrUX/PageSpeed or secure booking reporting access. Rankings, index coverage, completed conversions and field Core Web Vitals remain unverified. |
The review tools include site/responsive-review.html, which lets you switch among phone, tablet, desktop and the explicitly labelled enlargement simulation. All content remains scrollable; the long phone treatment menu expands in normal page flow rather than being cut off in a fixed-height overlay. The optional external booking link is clearly marked; any activity after leaving the prototype is governed by that external provider.
Files and the next approval stage
- url-inventory.csv: original/proposed public URLs, local file paths, metadata, H1 and source snapshot mapping.
- source-seo-audit.csv: original titles, descriptions, canonical/index directives, H1 counts and resource counts per URL.
- image-inventory.csv and asset-manifest.csv: image placement, source URLs, variants, local files, sizes and hashes.
- link-inventory.csv and form-inventory.csv: observed contact/booking/navigation links and form field inventory.
- prioritised-opportunities.csv and clinical-review-register.csv: prioritised actions and claims for confirmation.
- sitemap-inventory.csv, public-observations.json and static-validation.json: supporting audit and QA records.
- approval-guide.html: a short review route and the decisions required before the next stage.
Approval of this design is separate from permission to convert WordPress or publish. A later release should reconcile current content, confirm clinic facts/clinical copy, implement secure enrolment and analytics, test WordPress templates/SEO-plugin output, validate redirects and production status codes, complete native zoom/physical-device checks, back up the live site and obtain explicit publication approval.
Sources and access notes
Primary evidence: current Wainui public pages and sitemaps (retained as inert snapshots), rendered booking-provider destinations, and the public Google Maps profile. Reference clinics: the three linked primary websites above. Technical references: Google Search Central and web.dev linked in the technical section. No competitor copy, offers, prices or photographs were reused.
Mobile refinement, 2 November 2026
All 108 clinic routes were checked at 320 × 568, 360 × 640, 390 × 844, 430 × 932 and 844 × 390 CSS pixels: 540 browser-rendered cases. The final run reported no horizontal page or treatment-menu overflow, failed loaded photographs, main photographs using cover cropping, missing favicon, or undersized primary button/accordion controls under the harness criteria. Body text was 18px throughout and the phone/booking bar was present in every case.
- Fixed actions now reserve space below the page, including iPhone safe-area insets. Footer links remain reachable. Narrow-screen text, navigation targets and photo-dialog controls are larger.
- 194 image placements now select suitable existing clinic image variants through srcset and sizes. Original full photographs remain available for enlargement. Existing 500px team portraits use approximately 93% fewer bytes than their original full-size sources. This is a source-byte comparison, not a measured page-speed or ranking improvement.
- The clinic’s original blue favicon is included as 16px and 32px PNG plus an ICO container. No substitute logo was generated. All clinic pages use the same icon and blue browser theme colour.
- Mobile navigation closes after choosing a page or tapping outside the header. The treatment overview remains a separate link, with its dropdown available by keyboard. Zoom remains enabled.
- Legacy builder gallery codes were appearing as text in A brief history of teeth whitening and Nothing as bad as an aching tooth. Unrendered codes were removed from presentation and the old contact-button code became a working contact link. Original article prose and source snapshots remain. Original media IDs 8121, 8112, 8111, 8105, 8104 and 8103 each returned HTTP 404; these historical gallery files still require clinic/archive recovery. No replacement gallery was invented.
Keyboard checks confirmed Enter/Space treatment-menu operation, Escape closing the dropdown, and FAQ Show all/Close all behaviour. Run the mobile layout checks. The harness is a repeatable layout check, not a complete accessibility or performance certification. Native 200% zoom, physical touch devices, iOS Safari, screen-reader coverage and field Core Web Vitals remain unverified. No patient information or appointment was submitted.
